Felt Bat Pillow DIY

Can you believe that it is October already?! I can’t! That means Halloween is less than 31 days away, so in the spirit of Halloween I wanted to share a simple no-sew pillow cover. Japan does not celebrate Halloween, which can make things challenging when there is a whole lot of nothing to choose from, for decorations creating the perfect storm for creativity.

Can I be honest with you? I really don’t like sewing… If I can find a way around it, I’m all for it! Which brings me to my no-sew Felt Bat Pillow and I can not tell you how much I love it. Since Halloween decor is limited here in Okinawa, Japan… now that I think of it I haven’t seen a single Halloween pillow anywhere! I decided to make my own and it only took a few things to make it. Once again creativity is your best friend here.

Felt Bat Pillow DIY

Supplies Needed:
Black Felt
Chalk
Hot Glue Gun and Hot Glue Sticks
Scissors
White Pillow Cover

Steps:
1. Download, print, and cut the Bat silhouettes (you can find the downloads below).
2. Using chalk trace the bat silhouettes onto the black felt then cut them out.
3. Using the pillow cover of your choice place the felt bats in any pattern you like.
4. After you have your bat pattern in place, start hot gluing the middle of the bats first then fold the wings slightly to give it a 3D effect.
5. Repeat step four until you finish hot gluing the bats.

That’s it! Easy-peasy right? I hope you give this DIY a try and remember to tag me on Instagram @paintmepinkblog if you make this pillow!
