Just a little reminder to romanticize your little heart out and enjoy the moments that bring you happiness, peace, and contentment. ✨

You may think that I’m romanticizing military life way too much. The truth is that I am. Recently, I came across a post on Instagram that caught my attention. The post highlighted the challenges of military life and urged people to stop romanticizing it. While I agree that the military lifestyle is not an easy one, I also believe that there are certain aspects of it that can be romanticized. Despite the hardships, there is something noble and honorable about serving one’s country, and that is worth appreciating.

A lack of appreciation and gratitude can create a negative mindset and lead us down a path of not being able to see the importance of romanticizing our small wins and the moments that bring us happiness and contentment. So why should we stop romanticizing and celebrating the moments that bring us peace and happiness, even for a moment?

I’m not sorry for romanticizing this military lifestyle. These small wins and glimmers of hope mean the world to me. Having an appreciation for the smallest things can sometimes be played down in life, and we often forget to romanticize and appreciate what we’ve done, what we have, and what we love.

R e c i p e • Can I be honest with you? I don’t like cookies that are drowning in frosting. They may look pretty decorated in all that heavy frosting, but as soon as you take a bite, all you can taste is that sugary frosting. So, if you don’t like cookies caked with heavy frosting, this sugar cookie dipped in chocolate is for you! It’s not too sweet; it’s soft and buttery, and you get that delicious soft bite of chocolate and, of course, a hit of chopped pecans!

Christmas Sugar Cookie with Chocolate and Pecans:
🎄2 cups unsalted butter, softened
🎄2 cups granulated sugar
🎄2 large eggs
🎄2 tablespoons vanilla extract
🎄4 teaspoons baking powder
🎄6 cups all purpose flour
🎄2 cups pecans (chopped)
🎄1 10oz bag of
Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Flavored Melting Wafers

1. Cream together butter and sugar then add vanilla extract and eggs, mix until pale and fluffy.

2. Add baking powder and mix.

3. Mix two cups of flour at a time to the mixture. Mix until well combined. Don’t over-mix the dough.

4. Dust your work surface with flour and roll a handful of the dough out on a prepared surface. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters.

5. Bake in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for 6-10 minutes, depending on the size of the cookie cutter you used. Do not over-bake! Cookies should be pale and slightly golden on the bottom.

6. Let your cookies cool.

7. Melt the chocolate wafers (follow the instructions on the package). You can dip the cookies into the chocolate, but I like only to coat the top of the cookie with a spoon. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the chocolate (you want to do this right away before the chocolate sets). Place them on parchment paper to set. And Enjoy!
