Easter Chicks Chocolate Covered Pears

When it comes to making elaborate Pinterest-worthy desserts, my results sometimes look like they belong on an episode of “Nailed It!” The best part of this dessert is that there’s no baking required! How nice is that! This dessert is delicious and cute, and everyone is going to want one. I hope you get the chance to make these adorable chocolate covered chick pears! INGREDIENTS

  • 3 Small Pears
  • 1 10 oz bag of Ghirardelli White Vanilla Flavored Melting Wafers
  • 1 Carrot
  • Yellow food coloring
  • Black writing gel

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Start by washing the pears and pat them dry.
  2. In a small microwaveable mixing bowl, melt chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring at each interval until fully melted. Add yellow food coloring and stir until smooth.
  3. Then hold the pear by the stem and carefully dip them into the melted chocolate. Place the pears onto a plate with parchment paper to cool. Let the chocolate set for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Add two eyes using the black writing food gel.
  5. Peel a carrot and cut a small triangle for the beak and six rectangles for the feet. Connect the carrot beak and feet to the pear using the extra melted chocolate.

Tip: 

  • Make sure you buy pears that have stems. This way, it’s easier to dip into the chocolate. 
  • You can make three pears for every 10 oz bag of Ghirardelli White Vanilla Flavored Melting Wafers.
