DIY: Stamped Napkins

Today I’m feeling mellow yellow and linen napkins! With spring around the corner, I’ve done some tidying up around the house and found some of my favorite linen napkins. I grew up in a house where we didn’t use linen napkins at all. Perhaps they were to fancy, like something that should only come out when there’s company or a special occasion. Or maybe my mom simply didn’t want to wash them every day, which I can totally understand! They are a lot of work: all that washing, folding and ironing. Regardless of how much work they are to clean, I think that it’s nice to bring them out a few times a week and enjoy them. Why let them sit in a cupboard, drawer or wait until the next holiday or special occasion. I’m all for using things that we have and enjoying them! Life is too short not to use linen napkins, enjoy great food, and sip wine.

Do you own linen napkins? Do you use them every day?

That brings me to this DIY! I know I pretty much always say “this project is super easy” but the fact is – they are!  I simply don’t have time to put into a complicated DIY (hello, I’m a mother of 3) and my kids keep me busy more than you’ll ever know.  So if you’re looking for a simple way to add a personal handmade touch to your table, these stamped napkins are for you. It’s been a long time since I wanted to make my own hand-stamped napkins so I’m taking this opportunity and finally doing it!

All you need are 3 items from your local craft store.

Materials:

  • Linen napkins
  • Fabric Ink Pad
  • Rubber Stamps

You want to practice stamping on a paper first so you can get used to the stamping pressure. After you practiced a couple of times try it out on your linen napkins!

I decided to stamp just the corners of some napkins and I also stamped one all throughout by starting in the middle and working my way out.

How darling did these turned out?! I hope you give this DIY a try and remember to tag me on Instagram @paintmepinkblog if you make these napkins!
